Privacy Policy
Version 1.4 | Last Updated: May 12, 2026
Our Commitment to You
Fino is built on a simple principle: your data works for you, not against you. Unlike other apps that collect your purchase history and sell it to brands, Fino returns your data to you as real shopping intelligence. This policy explains exactly what we collect, how we use it, and the protections we put in place to keep your information yours.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information When you join the Fino waitlist or create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to provide.
Receipt and Purchase Data When you scan a receipt or connect a shopping app, Fino collects itemized purchase data including store name, date, individual items, and prices paid. This is the core data that powers your personal price intelligence.
Usage Data We collect standard app usage data — how you interact with Fino, features you use, and performance data — to improve the product experience.
Device Information Basic device information such as device type, operating system, and app version for technical support and performance purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
To power your personal price intelligence Your receipt and purchase data is used exclusively to build your personal price history, generate savings alerts, and provide spending insights tailored to what you actually buy.
To improve Fino Aggregated, anonymized usage patterns help us understand how to make Fino more useful. No individual data is used in this process.
To communicate with you We use your email address to send you waitlist updates, launch notifications, and product news. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To generate anonymized industry insights Fino generates revenue by selling anonymized, aggregated trend data to retailers and consumer goods companies — for example, category-level price trends or regional demand signals. This data is mathematically anonymized and never contains individual identities, purchase histories, or any information that could be traced back to you personally.
3. What We Never Do
We want to be explicit about what Fino will never do with your data:
Never sell your personal purchase history. Your individual data is never sold, licensed, or shared with any third party in identifiable form.
Never share your identity with retailers. Retail partners who access Fino's aggregated insights have no visibility into individual users.
Never use your data for targeted advertising. Fino does not run ads and does not use your data to serve you advertisements.
Never share data without your consent. Outside of the anonymized aggregate data described above, your information stays within Fino.
4. How We Share Information
Service Providers We work with trusted technology partners to operate Fino — including cloud storage, analytics, and email services. These partners access only the minimum data necessary to perform their function and are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
Legal Requirements We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Fino and its users.
Business Transfer In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data would transfer to the successor entity subject to the same privacy commitments described in this policy.
5. Data Anonymization
The aggregated data we share with retail industry partners is processed through anonymization techniques that make individual identification impossible. Specifically:
Data is aggregated across thousands of users before any analysis is performed
Individual transaction records are never included in any external report
No names, email addresses, or account identifiers are ever attached to shared data
Reports describe trends and patterns, never individuals
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data including encryption in transit and at rest, secure access controls, and regular security reviews. While we take every reasonable precaution, no system is completely immune to risk. We will notify you promptly in the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your information.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have full control over your data at all times:
Access: Request a complete export of all data Fino holds about you
Correction: Update or correct any inaccurate information
Deletion: Permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, no questions asked
Opt-out: Unsubscribe from all marketing communications at any time
Portability: Export your purchase history and price data in a standard format
To exercise any of these rights contact us at legal@myfino.app and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be traced back to you may be retained indefinitely as part of our industry dataset.
9. Cookies and Tracking
Fino uses cookies and similar technologies to:
